What this actually means, is like muscles, playing a guitar,using your thinking golfing, anything that you can do and don't use. If you don't keep playing guitar or golf you won't have the good left, because you won't remember it all and will mess up and have to try harder to regain where you were. Just as muscle, it deteriorates if you don't keep using it. Then you get all sore again and have to work yourself back into shape. Therefore, if you don't use it you will lose it.
